Rev. J. Kevin James, Jr.
Rev. J. Kevin James, Jr., is the youngest of two, born to Rev. J. Kevin James, Sr. and Lynda D. Cunningham. A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Rev. James was educated in the Baltimore County Public School System. He would matriculate to Towson University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in History. He also holds a Master of Divinity from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC; along with a post-graduate certification in leadership and management from the University of Maryland.
At the tender age of seven, Rev. James accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior. Baptized at the Little Ark Missionary Baptist Church, in Baltimore, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. James L. Carter. Seeing the hand of God on Rev. James life, Dr. Carter introduced Rev. James to the gospel preaching ministry at the age of eight. Officially licensed by the Christ Centered Church, under the leadership of Rev. Geraldine Stancil James, Rev. James would carry on the legacy of his family as a fifth generation preacher.
Most recently Rev. James served as Pastor to Children, Youth, & Young Adults at the Historic Whitestone Baptist Church; in Baltimore, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Elmore E. Warren, Jr. In June of 2016, Rev. James was ordained by the Whitestone Baptist Church.
On July 10, 2016 Rev. James was unanimously elected by the disciples of Macedonia Baptist Church in East Saint Louis, Illinois to serve as their Pastor. Since Pastor James arrival Macedonia has increased spiritually, numerically, and financially.
Believing in the power of education, ministry, and community service, Pastor James is a recipient of several awards and citations. He is a proud member of Omega Psi Phi, Fraternity, Inc. Rev. James is married to the beautiful and gifted Miss Roshawnda S. James.
Lady Roshawnda James
Lady Roshawnda S. James is a native of Baltimore, Maryland and second of four children from the union of William & Charlene Barnes.
She accepted Christ at a young age at the Gateway Church of Christ and established her spiritual foundation. Lady James grew in her spiritual walk at the First Mt. Olive Freewill Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop Oscar E. Brown where she served as co-leader of the college ministry and member of the YYA Council.
Along with her spiritual accomplishments, Lady James has excelled in many of her educational pursuits. She is graduate of Poly Technical High School in Baltimore, Maryland. She received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland, College Park. She furthered her education by receiving a Master’s in Healthcare Administration and MBA from University of Maryland, Adelphi. She is also a committed member of The National Council of Negro Women, Gateway Chapter (St. Louis). Lady James is the proud wife of Rev. J. Kevin James, Jr. and the leading Lady of the Macedonia Baptist Church in East St. Louis, IL, where she serves as Director of Family Ministries.
